The Don’t Stop the Music singer said her ensemble would be 'very simple-ish... compared to everything [she's] ever done.'
She added, 'I'm showing up for dinner! Shout out to Anna Wintour.'
Rihanna, along with Katy Perry, was depicted as having attended the gala in fake images that circulated Monday evening.
Rihanna wasn't the only superstar missing from the red carpet on Monday, as Beyoncé and Taylor Swift also skipped the proceedings; neither have attended since 2016, according to The New York Times.
Among the big names who made their presence felt at the Met Gala included Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez.
